Celebrate German and Italian Memorial Day on Fort Benning | Events

FORT BENNING, GA - Fort Benning will honor German and Italian soldiers during the annual German and Italian Memorial Day ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Main Post Cemetery.

The observance will honor 44 German and seven Italian World War II soldiers who are buried in the post cemetery. 

These soldiers were incarcerated here as prisoners of war during World War II between 1943 and 1946.

German and Italian Memorial Day is observed annually in the United States at every installation where German and Italian prisoners of war are buried. The public is invited to attend this event.
